The 300 Club
Ah, the South Pole. That's where I don't get to go this coming January. However, a grad student in the same lab as me (one of the guys who can tell me what to do) does have that amazing opportunity, and also the opportunity to join one of the most exclusive clubs on the planet: the 300 club.
Imagine this if you will: you are sitting in a sauna for hours on end, with the temperature gradually rising to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Somebody can't take the heat and leaves the sauna. When your temperature is high enough you go outside. Outside outside, at the South Pole. Please forgive my redundancy. Please forgive my apology(ies) in the middle of a blog. Outside, wearing nothing but boots, at the South Pole. Outside, wearing nothing but boots at the South Pole, where the temperature is -100 degrees Fahrenheit. Forgive the italics.
I wanna try!! :,-(

ooo, that would be fun!
Luv ya all!
O, and I thought I would mention, that I don't know how Case Western got my name, but I have gotten 3-4 letters from them, and they email me at least once a week, sometimes more. They must really want me, which I find odd, since they don't have my program, and I'm probably not even smart enough! LOL!
Luv ya all!
Wow... that would be... um... fun?
But here's the real question: doesn't most of the world's population use the metric system? So, wouldn't they call it "The 167 Club"? Or is this club solely American?
Or maybe the SI people have their own more extreme "200 Club," cranking the sauna up to 125ºC (257ºF), only to step out into -75ºC (-103ºF) weather? That's a nice, round 360 degrees for us (no mathematical pun intended)!
this particular club is just from the U.S. base at the South Pole; other nations have their own bases, so it is in Fahrenheit.
but the 'round 360º' is a good pun
